PANTO ENSEMBLE OPEN AUDITION

Date: Wednesday 24 April 2024

Where: UK Theatre School Performing Arts Academy 4 West Regent Street, Glasgow, G2 1RW

10am-12:30pm dance workshop audition

1:30pm-4pm call backs for song and text auditions

 

Beacon Arts Centre are auditioning for 2 female presenting and 2 male presenting all-round trained performers, who are highly skilled dancers and singers, for our 2024 panto Jack and the Beanstalk.

Auditionees should bring their CV and a backing track for one pop or musical theatre song. These ensemble roles are to understudy, so acting skills must also be strong. Text audition sides will be provided on the day.

We welcome performers of all ethnicities, gender identities and from all backgrounds.

West of Scotland students

Students from HND Technical Theatre course attend the Beacon every Monday throughout the academic
year to further their classroom learning with hands-on experience. The nature of the course means that
they are sometimes called to performances in the other venues but while they’re here, we aim to provide a safe, pressure-free environment in which they can learn with confidence.

We provide practical teaching in:
• health and safety
• manual handling
• ladder/telescope training
• basic electrical understanding and experience with fault finding
• practical lighting experience including working at height and computer programming
• practical sound operation including QLab instruction for theatre, studio recording and playback
• practical rigging experience including counterweight flying, slings anchors and some basic rigging
