Suitable for all ages and abilities. Led by choreographer Jane Simpson.
Jane trained at Laban, formed Rotating Dancers with Liz Ingram was a founder member of Steps Out, Scottish Ballet small touring company performing and teaching throughout Scotland and N Ireland. Jane has made a major contribution to developing the profile of dance in Glasgow, having taught and choreographed for many of the leading arts courses and community companies, and theatres including Tag Theatre, Tron Theatre and Cumbernauld. Her recent projects include Solar Bear, Indepen-dance Ensemble and U.W.S. Oceanallover and currently lectures at Glasgow Clyde on acting and dance HND courses. The focus of her teaching is to enable people to engage with technique, expression and to enjoy ownership of space.

Find your alignment ,openness  and coordination in contemporary dance .
This is a class for anyone wanting to join the group to move and express their potential through contemporary dance practices led by Jane Simpson currently teaching on the performance arts programme , music, dance , acting  courses at Glasgowclyde College.
The class encompasses postural integration, floor work ,released movement sequences and moments of choreography that allows us to be stretched in all directions.

Thursday Dance Class

5-7pm

All Levels Welcome. Led by Katie Armstrong.

Katie trained at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.  During her third year she was selected to work and perform with Rambert Dance Company.  Upon graduating she went on to work with companies and artists nationwide including The National Theatre Scotland, Rosie Kay Dance Company, Scottish Opera/Company Chordelia, for Jack Webb, Tamsyn Russell, Inês Coelho, Chrissie Ardill, Simon Fildes/Wyn Pottratz and currently for Eowyn Emerald and Dancers.

Katie has also choreographed work in collaboration with Zendeh theatre company, for The Yard Theatre London, Wilton’s Music Hall, Secret Garden Party and the London Cochrane Theatre.  Most recently she has created and toured HAND//SHAKE through support from Creative Scotland and Surge.
Katie has also taught extensively throughout the UK in Ballet and Contemporary Dance from community classes and workshops to professional level classes.
Class takes influence from Graham and Cunningham Technique focussing on alignment, strength and posture before progressing into longer phrases which allow for free flowing movement in and out of the floor.
Class is suitable for all levels.
